Mine goes to ten

Strong as ten? One-minute songs. Violently contagious crossover thrash. High energy punk attitude. What else? These dudes played the Bistrot des Halles yesterday and I had the chance to be able to see their 25-minute gig. Watch the video below if you like Municipal Waste, limp wrist and bands like such... Then Situations, if you are into punk and Guy Debors you might want to lend an ear to this band...

Slow Motion Loudzo

This thursday Caen-based heavy blues band Loudzo played the El "Hell" Camino. Loud riffs, high energy and sweat made the fusebox trip twice! That was a cool one!
I filmed some of the songs the guys played. There are "Slow Motion Fuzz", "Chemical Monday" and "Roadhouse blues" (The Doors cover)! Enjoy!

1995 Pyrrhic victory

Most of you must have understood that - for us kids born in the eighties - the nineteen nineties have left a pleasant scent trail that we (for the majority of us downtempo aficionados) like to sniff our way back to. I had been looking for V love 12" - The Wilderness for so long that it had become quite obvious that I would never lay my fingers on it. Like the old sailor says that there is nothing you can do that will turn the tide I had grown accustomed to the idea that sometimes you can dig in the crates, go to yard sales, raid second-hand record stores, ask your friends around and never find that record that you have been longing for. Yet sometimes, the tide finally turns and the 1995 downtempo tidal waves hits you right in the face.

V Love - The Wilderness

You missed that one.

Most stoner rock bands have the perfect know-how to fuck up songs while playing live because their bass players always overkill gigs by indulging in playing too loud. They only thing that gets to you is a loud overwhelming  buzzing sound that is not only making your eardrums vibrate dangerously but your whole body from your feet up. Though I could not really make out which song the band was playing when I captured this video my camera actually did a great job since its microphone seems too be way less sensitive than my ears.

An overcast evening for a stoner night.
